πΈ Strategy 1: Systems and Processes
In order to clear your timetable of all those pesky admin tasks, the first strategy that Paige recommends is getting your systems and processes down to a fine art.
Your eyes might be glazing over at the very mention of systems and processes, but don't worry, we've laid it all out as simple as can be, because having good processes and reliable systems in place is crucial for increasing your revenue!
Streamlining your processes
Designing websites and dealing with clients is filled with processes that dictate what you're supposed to do and when.
The "process" generally starts when a client first enquires about your services on your site and ends when you hand over the finished website to them.
If you don't have a defined process in place (like many web designers that are just starting out), client projects tend to drag on with no wrap up in sight, filled with wishy-washy back-and-forth that make planning any other projects virtually impossible π
Having a set process, from enquiry to booking, to project timeline, hand-over, and follow-up, is crucial to change all that, and the very first step is to nail down exactly how long a website design project should be taking you (1 week, or 2 weeks, or 3 weeks, etc.).
Having a set timeframe for all of your projects will not only make your clients happier, it will allow you to predict exactly how many projects you can fit into a year and book out your calendars months in advance, improving both your time management and increasing your revenue!

Implementing a CRM system
Once you've defined your process and know how long a project should take you, the next step is to make sure that it's all working as efficiently as possible.
One way to do this is by using a Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system like Dubsado or Honeybook to streamline your processes with automations and save you literal hours of work. You'll be able to manage each client project in the same place and automate time-consuming tasks like onboarding, scheduling, reminders, and invoicing so that you can just focus on the really important stuff: designing the website!
πΈ Strategy 2: Selling Templates
Selling digital products (like social media templates or website templates) is a very logical next step for web designers wanting to increase their income, and one that is too often missed!
Yes it takes some time, and yes selling one template won't make you nearly as much as one custom website project, but in the long run, digital products are an amazing source of passive income that you'll be able to sell over and over again without putting in any extra work!
They fit naturally alongside your website design services, and use all of the same skills that you would use for a regular client project (just packaged up and delivered slightly differently!), They also allow you to serve way more clients that may not otherwise be able to afford to work with you, so it's a win-win!
