Taylor Good is a lover of dogs, scented candles, netflix (can relate) and “taking pictures of people in love” — and boy is she talented at it!
Taylor was inspired by her own not-so great experience with her wedding photographer to create wonderful photography experiences for couples on their wedding day. She is truly passionate about making couples feel great on their special day, and even better when they receive their gorgeous, forever-photos.
She did an amazing job designing her site using the Sophie Squarespace Template Kit. This is a great example of how you can take the structure of the kit and really make it into something unique. We love how she used the Polaroid graphics and the floral elements to really make it 100% her own!

What do you do/what is your business?: I am a wedding photographer! Before October 2018 I was just a photographer who wasn’t sure if I could “do” weddings. Imposter syndrome had me convinced I wasn’t good enough or experienced enough to capture someone’s wedding day. Then I got married. I realized how truly capable I was of providing great images and a wonderful experience to couples. When I decided to be a photographer for other people and not for myself I knew I was going to get to be a part of some special and intimate moments. I didn't know I would get all this. It's so important to me that I make all my clients feel like the subject of their own photos and I appreciate all the trust they put in me to do my best. My mind is forever blown at each and every session I do and connection I make.
What or who inspires you the most?: This is such a tough question because there are SO MANY people who inspire me almost daily. I'm incredibly lucky to be surrounded by a community of creatives who work hard to build up and support each other constantly. The people I admire most are Leah (owner of Polished Prints), Stef and Tasha (co-founders of ManifestHer), and communities like Bree + Stephen's. These are where I feel at home and most supported! In my photography, I always draw inspiration straight from the source: the people I'm photographing! The pre-session planning is a huge part of the actual session for me because it's when I get to know my clients and it helps me tell their story! I always hope to tell the honest story of who the people I'm photographing are and keep the focus on the emotion of what I'm capturing! When I'm being my most creative I'm always, always drawing inspiration from my favorite films! I've done so many stylized shoots based on films I love like Pride and Prejudice, The Great Gatsby, and Romeo and Juliet. I definitely gravitate towards love stories and the everlasting hope that love will always win.

Why did you choose that particular template?: I love how soft and elegant it is and that it has everything I need to hit the ground running from a photographer perspective. I didn't have to change the structure of the template at all when I built it - it fit perfectly with what I wanted and needed for my site. The design was exactly the direction I was going for and helped inspire me even more as I created my site!
Why did you want a new website?: I had an existing website that was okay, but it didn't feel like ME. It didn't represent my brand or my creative abilities as a photographer the way I wanted it to. When I found Big Cat Creative I knew these templates would give me the baseline I needed to create something that was exactly ME.
Why did you choose to purchase one of my templates, rather than a competitors?: When I found Big Cat Creative I INSTANTLY loved everything about the site, the branding, and the style and vibe spoke to me right away. I could tell I was going to get all the tools I needed and I loved how easy it was to preview all the templates and envision my own content in them.
How did you feel before you created your new website?: Before I created my current site I felt like I knew what I wanted my website to be but every time I tried to create it the final design fell short of my vision. This is the 3rd time I've redone my site because I have always used the free templates. I didn't even realize there were options like what Big Cat Creative provides and always thought I couldn't have the look and feel of the type of website I wanted without learning to code or paying a designer to do it for me.
How do you feel now that you have launched your new site?: I honestly feel so empowered. Using the template taught me so much about how to build a site that was exactly what I want and opened so many doors for me creatively! I feel like I can do anything with my site now and that it is truly a reflection of me and my brand!
How do you think your business is going to benefit from your new website?: The biggest benefit this site is bringing for my business is the peace of mind of knowing that I have built something that represents me fully, is set up in a way that it is easy to maintain and keep updated, and makes it so easy for clients to reach me and get the conversation started.
How did you find the whole Squarespace Template process from purchase to launch?: So easy! Big Cat Creative gives you all the pieces and you just put it together. When I started I remember thinking, "wow, it can't be this easy?" But it was! I had everything built literally in a matter of hours and was able to focus on my content and making it perfect. I couldn't believe how much I learned as I followed the video instructions. I was seriously blown away by how well organized and seamless the process was.
What's your fav series on Netflix right now?: I just started watching "I Am Not Okay With This" and I'm LOVING it! But I think The OA is the most underrated Netflix series ever haha!
