She’s inspired by the outdoors, and you can see this coming through her beautiful photography. She wanted a website that fit well with her photographs, stood out from the crowd of generic photography websites and portrayed her adventurous nature.
Becca really took the Nova Squarespace Template Kit and made it her own! The colors she used match perfectly with her photography and her overall aesthetic, and we love the overall earthy and adventurous vibes the site gives off!

What do you do/what is your business?: I'm an adventurous wedding photographer based in Boston! I had a head injury about 8 years ago and struggled with memory loss for the following 2 years. Photography was a way to capture the moments of my life I wasn't sure I'd remember. This seems like a super seamless transition to running my own photography business but it took a lot for me to share something that I held so close to my heart. I had to get over a lot of fears but eventually did it and launched my business. I pretty quickly realized that I wanted to capture moments that really mattered to people so weddings came really naturally to me and made me super fulfilled. Now I'm SO lucky to call this my full time job. I genuinely love photographing people and honestly capturing the moments of their life so they can always hold onto those memories.
What or who inspires you the most?: I get super inspired by the outdoors. It sounds cheesy but I am amazed by the earth and all the creations that happen naturally. I get in my head a lot as I'm both super ambitious but also impatient so whenever I feel stuck creatively, in business, or just in life going for hike or walking my pups to the beach nearby clears my mind and makes me feel so rejuvenated and inspired. Other than that though I get inspired hearing about fellow entrepreneurs stories and success as well as fellow photographers creativity.
What template did you purchase?: Nova
Why did you choose that particular template?: I think a lot of photographers get caught up in making their website and brand how they think it's supposed to be and end up drawing inspiration from other photographers. All of that is totally fine but in my opinion everything has started to look pretty similar. This was so different and refreshing. I love how it stood out and showcased the images and was so much more expressive. It really felt like me and meshed so well with how I wanted to be represented. Also Nova was the name of my dog when we adopted her (now Luna) and I'm from Northern Virginia which is nicknamed Nova so it all kind of fell into place with that one!
Why did you want a new website?: I have redone my website SO many times and have never been quite happy with it. I never really felt like it was super expressive of myself and my brand and felt like there was some type of barrier I couldn't break through to make it how I wanted. I didn't have the skills to make a super customized website and I was nervous that if I hired someone else to do it it wouldn't be a true expression of me. I feel like I totally broke through that barrier with this template and made something that is super customized and professional but also a really true reflection of who I am and what the business I run is like.
Why did you choose to purchase one of my templates, rather than a competitors?: First of all the designs were impeccable. I had a hard time narrowing it down between the options because there were so many good ones that I felt would all make really beautiful websites for me. They all seemed to flow really nicely and were extremely thoughtful in my opinion. I also really appreciated how the template wasn't just installed for me and I plug in my pics and call it a day. I got to learn SO much about building a website and how to customize it that will help me evolve my site as I evolve. I feel like I got a crash course in web design along with my template and that knowledge is just priceless to me. I seriously will recommend Big Cat Creative to any person that will listen to me!
How did you feel before you created your new website?: Being an entrepreneur I handle every aspect of my business so naturally I wanted to design my website myself too but just felt like I didn't have enough knowledge to do so. I am also no stranger to blog posts and Youtube videos and did tons of research trying to customize it beforehand but everything just felt so difficult and overwhelming. I was honestly questioning if it was even possible to have a website I was happy with.
How do you feel now that you have launched your new site?: SO GOOD. I honestly feel so proud of myself for making this site. Not only did I learn a lot while making it which I am stoked about but I also had to do quite a bit of self reflection to figure out how I wanted to present myself and why. It feels really good to come out the other side and know that my website is genuine to who I am and the business I've built.
How do you think your business is going to benefit from your new website?: Not only will this website help me attract more clients but the right clients. People talk a lot about "ideal clients" and a website is a great way to attract those people that will mesh with you super well and that you can do a great job for and also repel the people that you won't work well with. This website reflects me so much that when people see it they'll know if we're a good fit or not. Serving my people has always been such a huge deal to me and this site will help me do it so much better.
How did you find the whole Squarespace Template process from purchase to launch?: OH MAN IT WAS SO EASY. Everything was explained so well and so thoroughly that I never had questions or wondered what on earth I was doing. I also was shocked at how many extra tips were in the guide. You weren't just sent off to fill in the text or add the photos of your website alone. There were so much extra info in there that was incredibly helpful. It was so much more than just a design template in the end.
What's your fav series on Netflix right now?: my shows are too trashy I'm embarrassed hahaha
