What do you do/what is your business?: I help new freelancers create an organized financial system that gives them the calm and clarity they need to tackle their hungriest money goals.
I'm a firm believer that entrepreneurship/freelancing can be a powerful way to create wealth and financial freedom. But figuring out the whole "money" side of things can hold you back from ever starting.
Money Hungry Freelancers is a safe and inspiring place where new freelancers can learn to manage their money with confidence.
What or who inspires you the most?: As I embark on this journey of building my authentic brand, I'm most inspired by other business owners (like Erica) who are following their passion and creativity in a way that's true to them. When you lead with this type of authenticity, people can't help but be attracted to your vibrations. It's super inspiring!
What template did you purchase?: Ava Grand
Why did you choose that particular template?: All of the templates are SO gorgeous, it was really hard to choose. But the Ava Grand template stood out to me because I loved the little button on the top half of the page and the way the resource center was set up with a "featured" article at the top. The text layout was also very similar to what I had envisioned for my website, which meant I needed to spend even less time rearranging the layout #winwin.
Why did you want a new website?: My "full-time" job is working as a freelance writer for finance brands. I have a separate site for my portfolio, but my big goal for 2023 is to build a no-nonsense, easy-to-follow platform that helps new freelancers organize the crap out of their finances so they can tackle their biggest goals. I needed a brand new website for this venture, and Big Cat Creative templates are the ONLY ones I found that seemed to really match my personality and the vibe I was going for.
Why did you choose to purchase one of our templates, rather than a competitors?: The main thing that drew me to Big Cat Creative was the design of the templates. I also love Big Cat Creative's branding and messaging in general, so I knew they'd pour the same time and attention into their templates. Price was a secondary factor. The fact that the template was affordable (and came with matching social media graphics) was an A++ in my book.
How did you feel before you created your new website?: Before purchasing a template from Big Cat Creative, I felt completely overwhelmed at the thought of starting a new website from scratch. Everything I read online said I HAD to use WordPress and it was honestly a major pain in the butt to figure out. I didn't want "building a website" to be the thing that held me back from launching my biz, so I knew I needed a plug-and-play template that did 80% of the work for me.
How do you think your business is going to benefit from your new website?: I have never been more proud to show off a website in my life. It completely matches my vibe and the types of freelancers I'm trying to attract, so I know it'll play a big role in helping me get this platform off the ground. Plus, I've already received SOOOOO many compliments on my website and it's only been live for a few months.
How did you find the whole Squarespace Template process from purchase to launch?: I've purchased other website templates in the past and none of them came with support. You were simply handed a template and forced to figure out the details yourself.
The thing that surprised me the most about Big Cat Creative is that it came with an entire mini-course that walks you through exactly how to update the template to match your style/branding (!!!). This alone was completely worth the price and probably saved me 10 hours of hemming and hawing over what to do next.
I'm not a tech person by any means so I love that there were video tutorials walking you through how to do literally everything--connecting social accounts, compressing images for better site speed (something I've NEVER done in the past), etc. These tutorials were super actionable and took my overwhelm from 90% down to 0%.
How do you feel now that you've launched your new site?: I'm so freaking proud of this beautiful site I've created, with the help of Big Cat Creative. I'll forever recommend you all to everyone because the experience was so so enjoyable. I now have a beautiful website I'm honored to show off, and I owe it all to you.
What's your fav series on Netflix right now?: Heartstopper it's such a sweet coming-of-age story about two kids in love.
