What do you do/what is your business?: I currently help people create beautifully branded courses or memberships, and I do this through a self-paced course and 1:1 design services.
My ultimate goal is to ensure that people can launch with ease and confidence, spend their time focusing on what matters most (sharing *their* Zone of Genius), and ensure their students/members have an immersive and on-brand experience with them.
What or who inspires you the most?: First and foremost my son – he's made me realize how special it is to share time with him, and ultimately he is my motivation for side-hustling alongside my full-time job. I know that creating my own biz will give me more flex around the hours I work, and that's priceless.
Secondly, all of the amazing entrepreneurs I've surrounded myself with. Big Cat Creative is definitely on that list as I've seen the transformation your business has been through over the years, and I love that your product suite showcases your design and coding skills (also my passion) without 1:1 services. I love that because, for me, that is something I can replicate in my own business to ensure my family time is always a priority.
What template did you purchase?: Ava Grand
Why did you choose that particular template?: I felt like it was the one that tied in the most with my design vision. I could literally see my color palette and graphics woven into it, and when my friend also created her new website using the same template, I was sold!
The biggest factor for me was the home page – I knew I only had time to get an MVP version of my site up, and this home page felt like it encompassed all the core elements of my biz in one neat and professional-looking page.
Why did you want a new website?: My previous website worked well but I wanted a brand new look because I've recently pivoted. I wanted something that felt more in keeping with my brand values and encompassed more of my personality.
Another factor is that I have various products and services I want to offer in the future, so I wanted a site that would grow with me over the next couple of years. I've kept things basic for now, but trust me when I say there are lots of fun things in the pipeline!
Why did you choose to purchase one of our templates, rather than a competitor?: I wanted to be up and running as quickly as possible, and rather than waste time trying to learn SS 7.1 and DIY it, I knew my time would be better invested in grabbing a template.
Initially, I did buy from a competitor because it seemed the easier route (it was instantly installed) but what I realized is that one of the valuable things with your templates is the guided installation. I didn't realize there was going to be such a big difference between 7.1 and the previous version, so I actually struggled to use the template I bought initially :(
As I'd already bought from you in the past, I knew your template kits would also assist me in learning the basics of the platform, so it was a no-brainer to buy from you.
How did you feel before you created your new website?: Honestly, I hated my previous one and now it's been revamped I feel excited to grow my online home. I had resistance around sharing my design services because I lacked the time and desire to spruce up my own website.
How do you feel now that you have launched your new site?: I'll feel proud to direct people to my site to sign up for my newsletter, buy any (future) products, or enquire about working with me. Also, the new look has made me feel excited to create new blog content for the types of people I want to attract and give value to!

How did you find the whole Squarespace Template process from purchase to launch?: A little time-consuming (busy Mama, side-hustler, and day job'er over here haha) but really easy to install and very helpful in terms of the extra value you get if you're totally new – or transitioning to – SS 7.1. Getting to grips with the basics of 7.1 through installing this template was a total win for me :)
What's your fav series on Netflix right now?: Not on Netflix, but I love 'This is Us' (very heart-warming) and adore 'Handmaid's Tale'!
